Blog
Welcome.
I have created this content in the hope that you'll find answers and insights into some of the more intriguing aspects of psychic and mediumship work, along with guidance for understanding spirituality and soul development.
All the information in these posts is based on my personal experiences as a psychic medium, and is therefore, subjective.
After nearly 20 years of actively practicing mediumship—and almost another 20 years of unsolicited psychic and mediumship experiences inflicted upon me before that—I still don’t claim to know everything. In fact, I don’t believe anyone does. Our human brains have a limited capacity for grasping the extraordinary, and many aspects of the Spirit World exceed the bounds of human comprehension.
Please be patient with me as I endeavour to translate the profound spiritual wisdom into coherent English and keep in mind that all the information shared here is, in the Grand Scheme of Things, fragmented and generalized.
Many of the topics explored in this blog have been written about extensively ( and far more eloquently than I could ever muster ) in other works centered on spirituality. I encourage you to explore with an open mind and heart. Take in what resonates with your soul at this moment, lovingly release what doesn’t, and trust that the answers you seek will eventually find their way to you.
May your journey on this path
be filled with Wonder,
Healing
and Love.

What is the difference between a Clairvoyant, Medium and Psychic and why is it important to understand these differences?
In the last two decades, interest in spiritual work has surged like never before. TV shows, podcasts, workshops, and online communities have brought terms like psychic, medium, and clairvoyant into the mainstream conversation. These words are everywhere—on business cards, websites, Instagram bios—and they often get used interchangeably.
But here’s the thing: while they are related, they are not the same.
And even within our own spiritual community, I often see the boundaries between these roles blurred or misunderstood.
This post is an in-depth exploration of what these terms truly mean, why they matter, and how understanding their differences can make spiritual work more effective, ethical, and enriching for both the practitioner and the client.
Why the Distinction Matters?
You might be wondering: “Why does it matter what label someone uses? Isn’t it all just intuitive work?”
In everyday conversation, perhaps not. But in professional spiritual practice, clarity is essential.
When we understand how an energy worker receives their information, we can better appreciate their skill set, know what to expect from a session, and choose the right person for our specific needs.
For example:
A psychic might give accurate insights into your career trajectory, health issues, or identify the location of a lost ring.
A medium might deliver a direct, personal message from your grandmother who has passed or connect you with your beloved childhood pet.
Both are valuable—but they serve different purposes. Using the wrong term can create unrealistic expectations, leave clients disappointed, and in some cases, lead to ethical concerns.
As someone who has worked extensively in this field, I’ve met psychics calling themselves mediums, mediums identifying as clairvoyants, and everything in between.
Normally, I’m not overly attached to labels. But here, definitions help us protect the integrity of spiritual work and honor the unique abilities each role represents.
The Psychic: Reader of Energies
A psychic is someone with the ability to perceive information beyond the five physical senses—often described as “extrasensory perception” or the sixth sense. This is not magic; it’s a heightened awareness of energy patterns and intuitive impressions.
Psychics tune into the energy of people, objects, and places in order to gather information. They might do this with or without tools—some use tarot cards, pendulums, or runes as a focus, while others work purely through intuitive perception.
The psychic’s “toolkit” often includes one or more of the intuitive faculties known as the clairs:
Clairvoyance – “clear seeing” of visions, symbols, or scenes.
Clairaudience – “clear hearing” of words, tones, or sounds.
Clairsentience – “clear feeling” of emotions or sensations.
Claircognizance – “clear knowing” that arrives without a logical process.
Through these senses, a psychic can tap into past events, present situations, or potential future outcomes. Importantly, psychics are not predestining the future—they are reading probable outcomes based on the current energy patterns, which can shift with new choices or circumstances.
Example: You sit with a psychic for guidance about a relationship. They tune into your energy and pick up on patterns of emotional distance and unspoken tension. They may “see” (clairvoyance) an image of two people standing back-to-back, “hear” (clairaudience) a song lyric about endings, and simply know (claircognizance) that the relationship is at a turning point. From there, they might advise you on your options and the likely results of each choice.
The Medium: Bridging Two Worlds
While a medium has psychic abilities, they also possess an additional, very specific skill: the ability to connect with the Spirit World.
This means they can raise their own energetic vibration and attune to the higher frequencies where the souls of the departed, spirit guides, angels, and other non-physical beings exist.
Where psychics primarily read the energy of the living, mediums act as a bridge between the physical and the non-physical.
A medium’s work might include:
Bringing through messages from loved ones who have passed.
Describing personalities, appearances, or memories that validate the spirit’s identity.
Passing on guidance or reassurance from the spirit world.
Mediumship is not about “summoning” spirits on demand. Rather, it’s about opening a channel of communication—one that is often evidential, meaning the medium provides specific details the client can recognize and confirm.
Example: During a session, you ask to connect with your late father. The medium might describe his favorite plaid shirt, his habit of whistling while cooking, and the way he used to tap the steering wheel when driving. These details—while perhaps meaningless to anyone else—are profoundly validating to you and serve as evidence of his continued presence.
The Clairvoyant: The Seer
Here’s where the confusion often begins. Clairvoyance is not a job title—it is one of the intuitive senses, a tool that both psychics and mediums can use.
A clairvoyant is someone whose primary way of perceiving is through visual impressions. They may see symbolic images, literal scenes, colors, or flashes of movement. This can happen in the mind’s eye or, in rare cases, externally as if projected into the physical space.
Clairvoyance might be used by:
A psychic to see a future event, past occurrences or, current energetic block.
A medium to see the appearance of a Spirit or other Celestial Entity.
In other words, clairvoyance is a method of perception, not a distinct category of practitioner.
Example: A psychic clairvoyant might “see” an image of a locked door when reading for a client who feels stuck in their career. A medium clairvoyant might “see” a grandmother in a floral dress standing behind the client. The sense used is the same—what differs is the source of the image.
How the Roles Overlap
While the distinctions are real, the roles can and often do overlap. All mediums are also highly psychic. Many psychics often have one dominant clair, such as clairvoyance. And some practitioners develop a balanced use of all the clairs. Many Psychics and Mediums master multiple "clairs" and deliver richer, more complex readings.
The important thing is not to conflate tools with roles, or abilities with specialties.
My Own Work as an Evidential Psychic Medium
In my own practice, I work as an evidential psychic medium, which means I draw on both psychic and mediumistic abilities and focus on providing verifiable information.
When working psychically, I might tune into a client’s life path, patterns, health issues, or relationships. When working as a medium, I aim to bring through specific, recognizable details from loved ones in spirit—such as physical descriptions, specific messages, shared memories, or personality traits and phrases they often used in life. Very often, a spirit will reveal trivial information about you or your current circumstances, just to prove they are always with you, loving and guiding you along the way.
I regularly use clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance in my work. Each reading is unique: sometimes visual impressions dominate; other times, I receive more auditory or feeling-based information. The combination of senses creates a complex, multi-layered reading experience.
Ethics and Responsibility in Spiritual Work
For those already in the field, understanding the distinctions isn’t just about self-description—it’s about ethics.
Honesty – Be clear about your abilities and limitations.
Boundaries – Don’t promise connections or outcomes you can’t guarantee.
Respect – Honor the sacred nature of this work and the trust clients place in you.
Misrepresenting yourself, even unintentionally, can erode trust and harm both your reputation and the client’s healing process.
Final Thoughts
The spiritual field is vast, beautiful, and deeply diverse. But with that diversity comes the need for clarity. Psychics, mediums, and clairvoyants are not interchangeable terms. They represent different ways of working, different energetic channels, and different outcomes for the client.
When we take the time to understand the distinctions, we empower ourselves to:
Choose the right practitioner for our needs.
Communicate our own abilities clearly if we are practitioners.
Appreciate the unique gifts each role brings to the table.
At its heart, all spiritual work is about connection—connection to ourselves, to each other, and to the greater mystery of existence. Whether you are a Psychic or a Medium, or even a Healer, whether that connection comes through visions of clairvoyance, auditory extra perception, claircognizance or clairsentience, each path offers its own kind of magic.
What types of Mediums are there? What are the differences between them and the ways in which they work?
Lets explore some of the different types of mediumship and discuss the differences between them.
One of the most common types of Mediumship is Mental Mediumship, where the Medium communicates with Spirits using their mind or consciousness. There are several kinds of Mental Mediumship and these include most commonly recognized: Spiritual Mediumship, Evidential Mediumship and Psychic Mediumship. All these forms of Mental Mediumship can involve receiving messages, images, or sensations from the spiritual realm, which the medium then conveys to the living. Spiritual Mediumship focuses primarily on the broader purpose of spiritual growth, healing and guidance. Evidential Mediumship on the other hand prioritizes delivering proof of life after death and provides specific, verifiable information about the spirit the Medium is communicating with - such as names, personality, physical characteristics, specific memories, illness the person suffered from in this life, cause of death and so on. Psychic Mediumship combines psychic abilities with spiritual communication and is a blend of both. As I explained in the previous post, Mental Mediums can utilize different " clairs ", like clairvoyance (seeing spirits), clairaudience (hearing spirits), or clairsentience (feeling spirits). Mental mediums may also engage in trance mediumship, where they allow a spirit to temporarily take control of their body in order to communicate more directly with the living.
Another type of mediumship is Physical Mediumship, where the medium produces physical phenomena such as levitation, materialization of objects, or direct voice communication. Physical mediums often work in a darkened room or seance setting, where they facilitate the manifestation of Spirits through their own energy or abilities. Physical mediumship is extremely rare, far less common than mental mediumship and is often more controversial, as skeptics question the validity of the physical phenomena produced.
There is also a form of mediumship known as channeling, where the medium acts as a conduit or channel for higher beings or spiritual entities to communicate through them. Channeling can involve receiving information, teachings, or guidance from these entities, which the medium then shares with others. Channeling is often considered a form of inspirational or Trance Mediumship, as the Medium may enter an altered state in order to facilitate the communication.
Mediumship can also be classified based on the types of spirits or entities that are communicated with. Some mediums specialize in communicating with the spirits of deceased loved ones, providing comfort and closure to the bereaved. These Mediums may receive messages or validation from the deceased, helping the living to understand that their loved ones are still present and watching over them. Other Mediums may communicate with Spirit Guides, Angels, or Ascended Masters, who offer guidance, wisdom, and spiritual teachings to those seeking insight and enlightenment.
One of the key differences between the various types of mediumship is the way in which the communication occurs. Mental Mediumship relies on the Medium's psychic abilities to connect with spirits and receive messages, which are then conveyed through their thoughts, feelings, or senses. Physical Mediumship, on the other hand, involves the manifestation of physical phenomena such as levitating objects or materializing Spirits. Channeling requires the medium to open themselves up to Higher Beings or Entities, allowing them to speak through the Medium's voice or consciousness.
Another difference between the types of mediumship is the level of control that the medium has over the communication process. In Mental Mediumship, the Medium is often actively engaged in receiving and interpreting messages from spirits, using their psychic abilities to filter and relay the information accurately. In Physical Mediumship, the Medium may have less control over the manifestations that occur, as they are often facilitated by external Energies or Entities. Channeling can also involve a relinquishing of control, as the Medium allows Higher Beings to speak through them without interference.
Despite these differences, all forms of Mediumship share a common goal of connecting the living with the spiritual realm and providing healing, guidance, and validation to those seeking spiritual support. Mediumship has been practiced for centuries in various cultures and traditions, with Mediums serving as intermediaries between the Physical and Spiritual Worlds.
What is the difference between Psychic and Mediumship reading and what are the benefits of combining both?
If you’ve ever booked a session with me—or even just read about my work—you may have noticed something: most of my clients receive a blend of both psychic and mediumship reading during their sitting.
This isn’t because I automatically assume everyone wants both. In fact, I always give clients the opportunity to specify at the very beginning of a session if they would like only psychic insight or only mediumship communication. And yet… almost no one makes that choice.
So, why is it that the vast majority of my sessions naturally blend the two? The answer is both simple and deeply rooted in how I work, how Spirit works, and what best serves the client.
The Unique Way Each Psychic and Medium Works
It’s important to start with this: no two energy workers connect with Spirit—or with energy in general—in exactly the same way.
Some psychics rely heavily on clairvoyant imagery. Others lean more toward clairsentience, feeling the emotions and sensations connected to a person, place, or event. Similarly, some mediums excel in delivering messages from loved ones in spirit, while others are deeply attuned to angelic realms or spirit guides.
This variety does not mean some are “better” than others—it simply means we are all wired differently. The way we perceive, interpret, and deliver information is shaped by our unique energetic makeup, our training, our personal experiences, and even our soul’s purpose.
In my own case, my sessions tend to flow fluidly between psychic and mediumistic states, because my natural connection points—and the way Spirit works through me—often involve information from both realms.
How Spirit Works in Sessions
I use the term The Spirit as a collective name for all celestial and spiritual beings inhabiting the high-vibrational realms of the Spirit World—this includes spirit guides, angels, archangels, ancestors, and of course, the souls of loved ones who have passed on.
Spirit, in its infinite wisdom, has a consistent goal: to bring through the messages, guidance, and support that will best serve the client in the moment. Sometimes, that involves very direct and personal communication from a departed loved one. Other times, it’s broader guidance from higher-level beings, or insight into a client’s present and future from their own higher self.
When Spirit communicates, it often prefers to give a full picture, rather than limiting itself to a single type of message. That’s one of the reasons why my sessions so often become a natural blend of psychic and mediumistic work.
The Best of Both Worlds
When you receive a combined reading, you are essentially getting the best of both realms:
From the psychic side: insight into your life circumstances, opportunities, challenges, and future potential.
From the mediumship side: validation, comfort, and healing messages from those who have passed on, along with guidance from spiritual allies such as guides and angels.
This blend allows you to experience a wide spectrum of contact with different spiritual beings in one sitting. In a single session, you might hear from:
Your guardian angels.
Your grandmother in spirit.
Your higher self.
A spirit guide you’ve never consciously met.
Even a departed pet who comes through with love.
This diversity enriches the reading, giving it multiple layers of meaning and allowing Spirit to address your needs from more than one angle.
Why Limiting a Session Can Sometimes Limit the Message
Occasionally, a client will say, “I just want to hear from my grandmother,” or “I’m only interested in psychic predictions about my career.” And I always honor that request.
However, there’s something important to consider: while a loved one in spirit can offer heartfelt and often accurate advice, their perspective is still shaped—at least to some degree—by the outlook they had in life.
Let’s say your grandmother was known as the family’s “voice of reason.” She might still be offering guidance with the same tone and worldview she had while living. That can be beautiful and grounding, but it may also be limited. After all, her life experience, values, and even biases haven’t disappeared entirely in the afterlife.
By allowing other sources—like your spirit guides, angels, or higher self—to contribute, you open the door to messages that might offer a broader or higher-level perspective, balancing personal wisdom with universal insight.
A Hypothetical Example: One Question, Two Perspectives
Imagine you come to me for guidance about a career change.
If you ask only your departed father:
He may recall your work ethic, your past struggles, and his own beliefs about job security. He might encourage you to “stick with what’s safe” because that’s what he valued when he was alive.
If you receive a combined reading:
In addition to your father’s input, your spirit guides might show you new opportunities aligned with your soul’s growth. Your higher self might reveal that this change is part of your life path. And an angelic presence might offer reassurance that you’ll be supported through the transition.
Both perspectives are valuable, but together, they create a much richer and more empowering picture.
The Flow of a Combined Session
While each session is unique, a typical combined reading with me might flow like this:
Opening Connection – I tune into your energy, allowing psychic impressions about your current life circumstances to come through. This could involve images, sounds and sensations, or an immediate “knowing” about what’s most important for you to hear.
Mediumship Connection – A loved one in spirit steps forward. I bring through their personality, memories, and any messages they wish to share.
Higher Guidance – Your spirit guides or angels add their perspective, sometimes reinforcing what’s already been said, sometimes offering a completely different angle.
Closing Insight – I bring together all the threads—psychic impressions, spirit messages, and higher-level guidance—so you leave with a cohesive, multi-dimensional understanding.
Why This Approach Resonates with Clients
Over the years, I’ve found that combined readings often bring the deepest sense of connection, clarity, and healing. Clients leave feeling:
Comforted by contact with loved ones in spirit.
Empowered by practical and psychic insight into their life path.
Supported by the presence of higher spiritual beings.
It’s a full-circle experience—both emotionally and energetically.
When a Single-Focus Reading is Best
While I find combined sessions most beneficial in the vast majority of cases, there are situations where a single focus is preferable:
Intense grief work – Sometimes, someone in early grief needs the entire session to be about connecting with a loved one.
Specific psychic inquiry – A client might be working on a very focused issue, like preparing for a major business launch, and want to spend the entire time on that.
Spiritual training – If I’m mentoring someone in developing their psychic or mediumship abilities, we may keep the focus narrow to build specific skills.
In these cases, I adjust the session to honor the client’s needs and intentions.
The Spirit’s Perspective
One of the beautiful lessons Spirit has taught me is that messages are not random. They are purposeful, layered, and often come through in ways that address both what we think we need to hear and what we truly need to hear.
When we allow the reading to be open to multiple sources—psychic, mediumistic, and higher guidance—we give Spirit permission to bring through the richest, most complete message possible.
It’s like walking into a library for one specific book, only to have a librarian hand you three others that end up being exactly what you needed.
Final Thoughts
A combined psychic and mediumship reading offers a bridge between two worlds—the energetic reality of the here and now, and the timeless, loving presence of Spirit. By embracing both, you give yourself access to a more complete picture of your life, your path, and the unseen support that surrounds you.
Ultimately, whether you choose a combined reading or a single-focus session, the key is to choose what resonates most deeply with you. My role is simply to open the channel and hold space for whatever wisdom Spirit wishes to share.
Because when Spirit speaks—whether through psychic insight, mediumship, or both—it always comes from a place of love, guidance, and the deepest desire to see you live your fullest, truest life.
Is reincarnation real? Do Souls reincarnate and why?
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born, I set you apart”
Jeremiah 1:5
Until quite recently, belief in reincarnation has been associated with mostly Far Eastern religions and spirituality, however, last few decades of technological progress allowing for an instant access to information and resources proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that reincarnation is real. It is not a myth, a fairytale or a wishful thinking. It’s a fact, although scientists are hesitant to declare it as such due to the lack of scientific evidence. People who studied and extensively researched the subject of reincarnation from the Spiritual perspective however, have no doubt.
World famous examples of reincarnation like the case of Om Sety ( Dorothy Eady ) and Jenny Cockell ( Mary Sutton in previous life ) simply cannot be explained in any other way, although many have tried and failed. There are thousands of those cases, throughout the world. Most recently, popularity are gaining TV programs dedicated to cases of young children who claim to remember their past lives, often resulting in unusual, unexplained fears or phobias associated with experiences from their past life.
It can be confidently asserted that most evidence shared by those who have a recollection of their past life that includes specific information and facts that can be corroborated and verified, demonstrates validity of reincarnation.
The fact that there are still people who do not believe in it, despite countless evidence of thousands of corroborated accounts can be easily explained by cognitive dissonance, but that is a different topic altogether, and perhaps best left to experts...
So, why do Souls reincarnate?
In a nutshell? - To learn and to grow.
Allow me to explain....
Before one reincarnates, one’s Soul prepares for the incarnation on the other side; With the help of their Angels and Spirit Guides they decide which type of life/experience they wish to live through and then the Soul chooses accordingly - Their gender, race, socio-economic background, earth family, lessons It wishes to learn in this lifetime, level of difficulty and any handicaps (illnesses, disabilities etc.).
On that, a little side note - I cannot help but smile when I hear some overly dramatic teen proclaiming “ I didn’t ask to be born! “ – Uhm…Well, actually… Lol.
The most relatable analogy that I ever came across is the one of a videogame – There too, you choose your avatar, environmental setting, level of difficulty, your strengths, weaknesses, superpowers ( our talents here on Earth ) and number of lives (“close calls” as we refer to them on Earth, where a Soul can opt out ).
As we incarnate, the innate knowledge we possess as Spiritual Beings, alongside the lack of ego is left behind in the Spiritual Realm, and we come into this World kicking and screaming ( literally! ), completely unaware of the Soul Contract our Soul entered into, unhappy and mad, oftentimes blaming the World and people in it for our unhappiness and misfortunes.
We all come here from the same place, our one and only HOME. We do not, obviously , all come here at the same time; some of us do not stay here as long as others and some of us do not come here as often as others.
To make this concept slightly more digestible, let’s imagine the Earth is our school ( because it is ). We come here to learn lessons and experience every human emotion possible. We come here to expand our understanding and consciousness and experience the full range of feelings and emotions, in aid of our spiritual growth and development. Do we have to come here to do all this experiencing and learning? No, we do not. We can stay Home and be home schooled, but that way, we will rob ourselves of the whole experience; Meeting all kinds of new teachers ( some great, others not so much), classmates ( same as the teachers ) recess time we can spend at the playground playing games that will occasionally result in some scrapes and bruises… We are all a part of a Soul Group, or a Soul Family, and these tend to incarnate together, in the same lifetime to meet and connect on Earth; We are either born into the same human family or form relationships and go through the incarnation experience together. Sometimes these Souls connect for a lifetime on Earth, sometimes they agree to work together and go through various experiences with us just until a particular lesson is learned – then they leave our lives.
If we stay Home, we will miss on all that. Yes, we will learn and develop, but in much more secure and safe environment, where our learning will not give us the full experience. An analogy of College vs. Apprenticeship can be used here - If we stay in College, we learn theory in a safe and secure environment of a classroom, where mistakes can be made, exams re-taken... However, if one decides to learn in the real world (Apprenticeship ) one gains valuable practice, experiences and knowledge, which cannot be achieved by sitting in the classroom alone.
So, the braver of us decide to venture out, incarnate and experience life on Earth firsthand.
So, what Soul lessons are we here to learn?
There are as many Soul lessons as there are Souls, however, they are all centered around development and growth.
We incarnate to learn and develop traits such as Compassion, Forgiveness, Tolerance, Patience, Understanding – just to name a few. All these however, are ultimately different aspects of LOVE.
So in short, that’s what we are all here for – To learn how to LOVE.
And this is where the real fun begins, as we are subjected to the ultimate exam, called Life…
The Correlation Between Soul Development, Empathy, and the Ability to Perceive and Connect with Energy.
The relationship between soul development, empathy, and the capacity to perceive and connect with energy can be summed up in a simple truth: the older the soul, the higher its level of consciousness and empathy.
This is not a rigid law—each soul is as unique as a snowflake, shaped by an unrepeatable sequence of lifetimes—but as a general principle, it remains remarkably consistent. Souls that have walked the earth many times often see, feel, and love differently than those newly arrived.
Soul Groups and the Journey of Incarnation
When a soul incarnates into human life (the deeper mechanics of reincarnation are explored in my earlier work), it tends to align with one of three broad groups:
Old Souls – Deeply experienced, spiritually mature beings whose essence has been tempered by centuries of living.
Young Souls – Newcomers to the earthly plane with little or no incarnational history.
Intermediate Souls – The majority of humanity, existing somewhere between the two extremes.
These are not “grades” in a cosmic school; they are stages of growth. Just as a toddler is no less valuable than a grandparent, a young soul is no less sacred than an old one. Every soul, regardless of its stage, is an indispensable thread in the vast tapestry of existence.
What Makes a Soul “Old” or “Young”?
The term Old Soul has nothing to do with chronological age. All souls are eternal, emanating from the same Divine Source. Since energy cannot be created or destroyed, every soul has always existed and always will.
The distinction lies in experience.
An Old Soul is one that has journeyed through hundreds—perhaps thousands—of lifetimes across centuries or even millennia. Each incarnation leaves its mark, like a ring in the trunk of an ancient tree, deepening the soul’s wisdom, compassion, and moral clarity.
A Young Soul, in contrast, may have only a handful of lifetimes behind it. These early chapters are filled with exploration, trial, and error. Young Souls are not “behind” in a competitive sense; they are simply in the early pages of a very long book.
The Old Soul’s Signature Traits
Old Souls often stand out in any crowd. They might be:
Wise beyond their years – speaking truths that seem older than their physical age.
Humanitarians and visionaries – drawn to causes that uplift humanity and heal the planet.
Morally anchored – guided by an internal compass rather than shifting social trends.
Deeply empathetic – feeling the joys and pains of others as if they were their own.
Their empathy is not sentimental but grounded in lived experience—hundreds of them. Imagine someone who has not just read history books but lived through the fall of empires, the rise of civilizations, the pain of loss, and the joy of love countless times. That depth becomes instinctive.
Story: An Old Soul in Action
History offers countless examples of Old Souls. Take Mahatma Gandhi. While his life was shaped by the political climate of colonial India, the choices he made—nonviolence in the face of brutality, compassion toward both friend and foe—reflect a wisdom not easily acquired in one lifetime. Gandhi’s approach was not simply political strategy; it was the expression of a soul that had long understood that violence begets violence, and that love and truth are the most enduring forces in the universe.
The Inner Knowing
Old Souls often arrive in a new lifetime with a subtle yet powerful sense of familiarity—what some call déjà vu on a spiritual scale. They may intuitively understand complex moral or philosophical concepts without formal study. In practical terms, an Old Soul can sense “the lay of the land” in human interactions and global events quickly, distinguishing between what is life-giving and what is destructive.
Their purpose is rarely about self-gain. Many feel called to foster peace, understanding, and love, even when doing so demands personal sacrifice. In literature, this archetype appears in figures like Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird—a man who stands for justice not because it is easy, but because it is right.
The Weight of Empathy
Empathy, for an Old Soul, is not merely an emotion but an energetic frequency—a resonance with the vibrations of others. This sensitivity can be a gift and a burden. They might feel the grief of strangers, the tension in a room, or even the unrest of the earth itself.
In modern times, this can lead Old Souls to careers in healing professions, activism, counseling, teaching, or the arts. Wherever they go, they seek to transform pain into understanding, division into unity.
Young Souls and Their Perspective
At the other end of the spectrum are Young Souls—those who are new to earthly life or have had few incarnations. For them, the physical world is a thrilling and sometimes harsh frontier. Without the ingrained wisdom of many past lives, their attention naturally gravitates toward survival, ambition, and ego fulfillment.
Young Souls often:
Prioritize self-interest over collective well-being.
Chase wealth, power, and recognition.
See life as a competitive race where only the strong prevail.
Experience empathy selectively, often for those within their immediate circle.
This doesn’t mean all young souls act selfishly. Just as a child can show remarkable kindness, a young soul can display moments of generosity. However, their spiritual foundation is still developing, and their moral compass is often shaped more by circumstance than by an inner code.
Story: A Young Soul in History
The ruthless conquests of Genghis Khan provide a historical glimpse into the young soul archetype. Brilliant in strategy yet often merciless in execution, his focus was on expansion, dominance, and legacy. While his actions shaped vast swaths of history, they were fueled less by collective empathy and more by personal ambition and survival in a harsh, competitive world.
How Old and Young Souls Interact Today
Modern society brings these soul stages into constant contact. An Old Soul in a corporate boardroom may quietly advocate for ethical practices, while a Young Soul at the same table might push for maximum profit at any cost.
These dynamics can cause tension—but they can also be opportunities for growth. Old Souls can plant seeds of awareness in Young Souls, even if those seeds take lifetimes to bloom. Likewise, Young Souls can remind Old Souls of the value of passion, ambition, and bold action, which can sometimes wane after centuries of cautious wisdom.
Why Understanding Matters
Describing the differences between old and young souls is not about moral superiority. Every soul—whether ancient or newly arrived—moves through the stages of growth according to the Divine Plan and the agreements it made before incarnating.
This perspective allows us to witness human behavior, even the darkest acts, with a deeper layer of understanding. While it may not erase the grief or outrage we feel when faced with cruelty, it provides context: every soul is on a journey, and what seems incomprehensible today may be part of a larger arc toward awakening.
The Long View of Soul Evolution
Seen through the lens of eternity, the soul’s path is not a race but an unfolding story. Old Souls once stumbled through their early lifetimes, driven by ego and survival, just as young souls will one day carry the wisdom they are now in the process of gathering.
If we imagine humanity as a vast garden, young souls are the newly planted seeds—full of potential but not yet bearing fruit. Old Souls are the towering trees—offering shade, shelter, and stability—yet still growing themselves. Both are essential to the ecosystem.
Closing Reflections: The Dance of the Soul
We are all travelers in an infinite journey—pilgrims moving through lifetimes like pages in an endless book. Some pages are stained with struggle, others illuminated with light, but all are essential chapters in the soul’s becoming.
The Old Soul carries the quiet weight of memory, like a lantern glowing in the dark, illuminating the path not only for themselves but for those still finding their way. The Young Soul carries the spark of fresh beginnings—curiosity untempered by experience, ambition unburdened by history. Both bring something vital to the human story.
In truth, the universe wastes nothing. Every triumph, every failure, every act of compassion, and every moment of selfishness becomes part of the great tapestry of growth. The soul’s evolution is patient; it does not measure worth by speed but by depth.
Perhaps the greatest gift of recognizing this continuum is compassion—not only for those who reflect our values but for those who do not. The Old Soul remembers being young, just as the Young Soul will one day remember being here, reading these words with new eyes and an expanded heart.
So whether your soul has weathered a thousand storms or is still learning to set its first sails, know this: you are exactly where you need to be. Every step forward, every lifetime lived, brings you closer to the same horizon—the unity from which we all began, and to which we will all return.
